Hello! So i’m a mother of 2 boys who are about 22 months apart…. so yeah not long after I gave birth to my 1st son I got pregnant again (it was planned-lol). So after 2 pregnancies I weight my heaviest at 156lbs. My husband just left to army bootcamp and well… I will be going to his graduation this coming up June- so long story short I have about 6 weeks to lose weight. My sister used NS and it totally worked for her so I just ordered mine today and I am stoked to start. I will let you guys know how it goes in a few weeks!
ur calorie intake is around 1000, so even if u dont exercise u are guaranteed to lose weight. (u typically need anywhere from 1500-2000 calories a day to maintain weight) 1 lb of weight is 3500 calories…so u see where im going.
how areu suppose to know what the good carbs and bad cards are after you are off the diet?? it makes no sense because there is no such thing as as a good and bad carb because either way they sre going to turn into sugar… its like the Nutrisystem is advertising FALSE HOPE
Dee Sandquist, RD, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association and director of the Center for Weight Management at Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver, thinks the diet could hold benefits for a select group. “For someone who likes structure and doesn’t like to cook, this program may help jump-start weight loss,” Sandquist The danger, she adds, is that it’s easy to gain the weight back. Without the program and company foods, Sandquist feels dieters could be at a loss about how to eat.
Very, very slow during the summer months. It does feel like you’re chained to the desk all day. Often times sales reps were taking mostly retention calls rather than sales calls. Call center was required to work on holidays except Christmas
Stay with this diet for as long as you can or as long as it takes to reach your target weight and body size. You can do NS for a month but I don’t believe a month long diet is enough unless you really only have a few pounds you need to lose.

A typical day might include a Nutrisystem granola-like bar for breakfast, one of the brand’s shakes for mid-morning snack, its chicken noodle soup for lunch, a serving of low-fat yogurt with fresh blueberries for mid-afternoon (you’re on your own with this one), a Nutrisystem lasagna for dinner, and one of the brand’s cookies for dessert or nighttime snack. This plan also includes access to the Nutrisystem app, which provides tools, tips, and tracking.
While there are some people who are going to complain about the Nutrisystem diet program, their results speak for themselves – if you follow the plan, you will lose weight with their easy-to-follow and effective system.
My weight gain eventually started causing health problems. Though I’m never sick, this went beyond that. I felt heavy, I didn’t feel like exercising, and was always tired. Eventually my knees started giving me problems. They hurt a lot therefore making it uncomfortable for me to enjoy an afternoon walk. I also started suffering from acid reflux. Sleeping at night was uncomfortable due to the discomfort and chest pains. I even noticed poor circulation in my arms and legs. My self-esteem became low and had a bad attitude that I would never be small again. I would often say “I’m just gonna be happy and fat and love myself the way I am”. That didn’t happen. I was miserable most of the time, except when I was eating of course.
The cost of food for 28 days depends on the particular Nutrisystem program. For the Basic Plan, food is preselected and costs between $240 and $300 per month. That’s between $8.90 and $11.04 per day. Prices increase with the Core and Uniquely Yours plans, which offer 100 and 150 more food options that can be chosen. Food is delivered frozen and ready for reheating.
Melissa Joan Hart may have been able to work magic when she played teenage witch “Sabrina” on television about a decade ago. But losing pounds after giving birth to her third child in September wasn’t likely to happen with the snap of magical fingers. Instead, she reportedly turned to Nutrisystem for help in shedding the pesky pounds (20, so far). On Tuesday, Nutrisystem announced via news release that Hart, 36, is its newest spokes-celebrity. In that role, she’ll be able to “explain it all” for you — kind of like her character Clarissa did in another popular show from the early 1990s.
NutriSystem has tapped into the mindset of the constant dieter. Not many want to spend time in group therapy or even be counseled one-on-one. Counselors are available by phone or online chat, but less than 20% of clients use them. Most seek support on the message boards of the company’s Web site. Dieters on portion-control plans like NutriSystem’s lose 5% of body weight after one year if they stick to it, according to many studies.
An advisory committee to the government’s 2010 Dietary Guidelines concluded that evidence overwhelmingly shows that diets based on the glycemic index do slightly or no better at weight loss than other types and aren’t markedly superior at keeping off pounds already lost. In 2009, the independent, nonprofit Cochrane Collaboration reviewed six small, randomized controlled trials of low-GI diets tested over periods from several months to a year. Overall, low-GI dieters lost about 2 more pounds than comparison diets on average. Researchers found similar results in a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2010. They examined weight-loss maintenance of 773 overweight adults on high- and low-GI diets. After 26 weeks, the low-GI dieters had regained 2 pounds less on average than their high-GI counterparts had.
Hey Leandra, you might lose a few pounds in your first week, but to get to 145 you’ll need to work on your diet longer term. I know a few drivers with weight problems because their jobs mean sitting at the wheel for many hours each day, while they eat a load of junk food because it’s easy and convenient. Maybe you can relate to this.
In the Nutrisystem weight-loss program you have more than 160 dishes to choose from. Meals are composed of 55 percent carbohydrates, 25 percent protein, and 20 percent fat. The usual meal plan cycle is 28 days. The meals sound very attractive, you will get three meals a day plus two snacks, and the calories are all controlled by portion size. Here are some examples:
My husband and I just started Nutrisystem. We talked about it for a month before deciding to order and I have to say, We have no regrets. I am pre-diabetic and I am significantly overweight. My husband only needs to lose a few pounds but everyone needs a diet buddy! After scrolling through bank statements we realized that we would actually save money by ordering for the both of us. I think a huge misconception that I have seen on other review sites is that if someone is overweight then ,obviously, they are lazy. In my case working extremely long hours as a nurse has taken its toll. I never feel like cooking after 12 hour shifts in a psychiatric ward. It was so easy to grab something on the way home from work. My husband also works 12 hour shifts as a supervisor and my youngest is also a nurse working 12 hour shifts. Once we get home we crash and burn. On days off we are very active. We kayak, ride bikes, walk and work outside nonstop. It’s so convenient to come home and have food that’s ready to go and good for us. I have already lost weight and feel great! My weight has been an issue for years but was compounded when my Dad passed away. All I wanted to do was eat. I’m trying to avoid the same issues he dealt with for the majority of his life. He was diabetic and had heart disease. I think every diet has pros and cons but when you start factoring in heart problems and diabetes then it’s a no-brainer. Also check nutrition facts for what you normally eat and I would guarantee that the sodium and preservatives in Nutrisystem aren’t nearly as bad as most things that we eat.
When I joined the Nutrisystem plan I also received 24 hour access to the Nutrisystem web site where I could chat with someone for support daily if I needed to. Haven’t used it, but its nice to know its there for me.
One significant benefit to Nutrisystem is that it is easy to follow. Many people have a hard time sticking to other diets because there are calories to count, carbs to count, and points to track. Then there is often guesswork with the values of certain foods or portions.
Extras: You can track your meals, exercise and weight loss online; start a blog; connect with other members in Nutrisystem chat rooms; and talk with a Nutrisystem counselor for support. You can even sync some wearable fitness devices with NuMi, a digital product for do-it-yourself dieters.
I have been using Nutrisystem Silver for 4 months now and have never been happier. I have lost the majority of the weight I set out to lose, and there is so little to do! I eat when I want, and am never hungry. I cook the food I want, and eat what I want from the meal planner. When I got my first shipment I was worried the food would not be good or that I would not be full. All the meals are expertly planned, and there is a lot of room to play. No other diets allow you to eat chocolate of any kind, and this one gives it to you freely!
When I got home and opened my Nutrisystem box, there were a few guidelines to follow to achieve my goal. Wait, do I have a goal? I never really thought about setting a goal, I just wanted to lose weight. I’ll set a goal when I see how this goes. I couldn’t help but feel a little pessimistic.
I just started Nutrisystem on sunday 4/6. I can say I love it.. and I’m being so good on this plan because its so easy.. I’m on the Diabetic Plan. my question is and I hope you can advise me whether to continue or not give up. In the 4 days I’ve been on the plan I’ve gained 7 pounds. not to mention this is very depressing.. now i do have to say before on this plan I was a bagel monger.. at least twice a day.. apple pies.. chips.. oh and chocolate in all shapes and sizes.. but I’m quite proud of myself that i’ve been following Nutrisystem by the book.. Please let me know whyyyyyyyyy I gained?
This program has meals produced from natural ingredients, which works well in enhancing* weight loss*. These ingredients work by suppressing cravings for sugary foods, enhance* metabolism and energy production, thus facilitating fat oxidation.
If you’re on a tighter budget, then the Basic will absolutely produce great results and is a plan that I have had success with. When you’re on this plan, Nutrisystem will build a menu for you from some of their most popular food items. I found that there was plenty of variety on this plan, but if you want to have more control over your menu, then I’d recommend upgrading to either the Core or Uniquely Yours plans.
Your blood chemistries, lipid values, blood pressure or blood sugar levels continue to improve or remain stable and within normal limits. (You will have to visit your doctor to have these levels tested.)
I’ve now been on Nutrisystem for three months and I have lost 28 pounds! I am so excited! I feel like a new person and I get compliments on how I look all of the time. I get all of my meals prepared for me, planned for me, and best of all, they taste great. But the greatest thing about the Nutrisystem plan is that I don’t have to count points anymore! You have no idea how much easier it is to lose weight when you aren’t stressing about how many points you are eating. Nutrisystem has that all figured out for you. I also love that I don’t have to go to meetings. Nutrisystem is giving me time back because everything is completely planned out. Good-bye Weight Watchers! Hello Nutrisystem!
Nutrisystem is one of the top choices when it comes to meal delivery diet plans, for both men and women. This is a great option for any guy looking to lose 10 pounds or more, and it receives our highest endorsement.
See how much food you get to eat on the Nutrisystem plan? You won’t be hungry and you will feel as though you are constantly eating which is a good thing. It’s good to not feel weak or deprived. I always saved my dessert as long as possible because looking forward to the dessert helped me stay away from temptations throughout the day. I work at a fairly large office and there are lots of birthdays and other celebrations. Each celebration is a temptation that I am able to either resist or give into. I choose to resist those temptations because I do not like how I feel when I give into them.
Here’s a breakdown of the nutritional content of a typical day on Nutrisystem’s “Lean 13 Uniquely Yours” plans for men and women, alongside recommendations from the government’s 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
This diet plan is trying to change lifestyles, not individual, short term practices. Initial goals such as 7 pounds from the waistline with the Lean 13 program are meant to drive momentum. Clients are expected to follow directions and to remain consistent with the program to achieve the final result. However, Nutrisystem understands that all programs are meant to end at some point. They claim to give the nutritional advice for clients to keep whether they stay on the meal plans or not.
However, it seemed many of the foods were cheaply made. While the meat wasn’t bad, it didn’t taste like it was anywhere close to grade A and every item that supposedly had fruits and nuts built into it, had almost none. I was also frequently disappointed when I opened lunches and dinners to find mostly sauce rather than meat and vegetables.
