You will get results when following their plan, which is why it can be a great option for a lot of people who have a significant amount of weight to lose. For me, it has been a good way to reset after weight gain, and then I can go back to focusing on eating healthy and preparing meals on my own, sort of like you plan to do. It’s also important to note that they do offer more comprehensive plans, where more of your meals are provided as well, so be sure to take a good look at all of their plans when deciding which one will work best for you and your budget. I just finished my 28th day on the Nutrisystem Women’s Basic Plan and I couldn’t be happier. I have lost ten pounds by sticking to their meals and tracking my exercise. I feel like this Nutrisystem Plan has given me a personal dietician in my own home.

But I am keeping my expectations lower and more realistic because it’s better to be pleasantly surprised than to be disappointed!

Hi Pat, I totally agree. I was on it a few years ago and lost a lot of weight. People were amazed; and I was amazed. I could run up stairs in a flash! The problem was, as you stated, that once I got off the plan…I put it all back on and then some! I ate anything and all I wanted because…shoot, I had finished my diet.

I always thought, if I ever became rich and had the money to spare, I’d try out one of these food delivery systems in a heartbeat. Like Lynda, I love that everything is planned out already…there is no calorie counting or anything involved. Plus no cooking is involved, so it’s perfect for people with busy lifestyles. It seems like it would be easier to stick to a plan if all you can eat is already provided for you. To make it easier to follow, I wouldn’t keep any other food in the house except for the fruits and vegetables needed to supplement the food provided.

So far, we love it. We buy canned veggies on sale to add to the dinners. The cost is high, but compared to our previous eating out, we are still saving money. We will definitely continue, probably for 6 months to a year. (We have a lot of weight to lose). I hear many saying that this program is not you how to eat right, but it IS. Portion control is one of my biggest problems. My body is learning the full triggers and eating 6 times a day helps my body process things. Gaining weight off program will happen if I do not keep the portions down and frequent. You cannot go back to eating three large meals a day. Love the hunger feeling… that the feeling of losing weight.

Nutrisystem still may be a bargain compared to competitor Jenny Craig. Unless you catch them during a promotion, Jenny Craig charges a registration fee on top of its meals, which generally runs at least $100 a week.

Anyway, maybe this information will help someone. I know for me my healthy lifestyle fell apart at the grocery store. Nutrisystem takes care of that for you. I go to the grocery store a lot these days but, it’s all small purchases. There’s four grocery stores between work and home so I don’t mind. I don’t buy foods with a shelf life for the most part. I would say that we actually save money on Nutrisystem because during the week we don’t eat out at all and we don’t buy very much from the grocery store. Our monthly expenditure is either cheaper or a wash but, Nutrisystem isn’t costing us anymore than we were spending a month anyway.

So everyone is squaking about Nutrisystems food being horrible, compared to Weight Watcher meals is Nutrisystem better or worse tasting. This is the only way I would know. May I have some feedback on this.

I chose the vegetarian plan and I think I discovered the secret of Nutrisystem! The food is so disgusting, you’ll never want to eat again! I found most of the stuff to be revolting… others just barely eatable. I am trying to return what I can. GROSS!!

I joined the plan and Nutrisystem sent me dieting tools, instructions on how to use the plan and great tasting foods. I also have access to Nutrisystems website. The website includes chat rooms, blogs, and group discussions about dieting. The website is a great place for me to go to receive support.

NS really works i have been using it for about 2 weeks and i lost 6 pounds but what i didn’t like is how the food tasted. im not saying that there bad but some foods were good and some were really good.also with nutri system you hav to excerise regullary while eating the foods

I have to admit I was only able to try 6 of their dinner dishes, and I could not finish any of them. Let me share one experience that might stay with me for the rest of my life. On day 3 of my diet I had already substituted 2 meals with other food because I simply couldn’t eat what the “chefs” at NutriSystem had planned for me… After a long day at work I got home and unpacked my dinner for the day: Chicken and Dumplings. How bad could it be, right? Well… Brace yourself. I cracked open the vacuum seal to let the meal breathe in the microwave when a strong smell hit my nose. It was absolutely rancid. I was afraid to look at it. I warmed my “chicken and duplings” for a minute and then took the mystery package out of the microwave. As I opened the lid fully, I saw a brown stew with runny liquid on top of it. The smell intensified. I was scared to taste it at this point but my hunger got the best of me… Big mistake! I will not elaborate on the combination of sensations that hit me when I bit into the hard dumplings, sprinkled with overcooked chicken shreds floating in a light brown liquid of unidentifiable origin… Suffice it to say that I had to flush it down the toilet and somehow it looked better and more fitting in the toilet bowl than on my dinner plate. It was among the top 3 worst things I’ve ever tasted in my life…
