Nutrisystem provides multiple diet plans that cater to specific needs and can be customized through the available menu to your particular taste. It offers healthy well-balanced meals that include high fiber, low calorie, and lean proteins to help relieve cravings and keep you fuller longer to control your appetite and eating habits.
This program has meals produced from natural ingredients, which works well in enhancing* weight loss*. These ingredients work by suppressing cravings for sugary foods, enhance* metabolism and energy production, thus facilitating fat oxidation.
You simply select your foods online (or on the phone), and they arrive on your doorstep. So, no matter if you’re trying to get breakfast in before the baby wakes up, fitting in a quick lunch at work, or even busy cooking for your family, you can still eat healthy foods and lose weight.
I am on day 11 of the nutrisystem diet, I started with a 5 day kit that came from Walmart and bought my fruit and veggies plus a ninja smoothie blender all at the exact same time. I was totally equipped to do this all right. I have already lost 6 pounds (24 to go). Since then I purchased another 5 day kit for use while waiting for my a la cart order to arrive from nutrisystem of frozen food. I found that after just the first bite or two the food does taste better and adding seasoning helps too. For me, the best thing is after cooking for my husband of 30 years- I no longer have to cook! I can pick out my meal and never worry about what my husband will eat. I actually believe the sodium is lower on this plan as I tend to gravitate to salty foods. By adding fruits and veggies then putting a little effort does make this more enjoyable and I feel more satisfied. I really want to lose weight more than I dislike eating the food and also I’m feeling real good and noticing I have more energy.
The dry goods chicken alfredo was was absolutely gross. Not sure the specs are the same (ie calories and protein) but the Weightwatchers chicken alfredo – especially if you add some frozen broccoli – is excellent. I made the mistake of ordering Core too – that dry food stuff is barely even food. I’ve made it easy by just adding a two-ingredient salad (with one Tablespoon low cal dressing) every lunch and at least one large serving of (usually frozen) veggies every dinner. will even get you thru Turbo Takeoff week. I found I need to supplement (cheat) with apples, low fat cheese sticks, deli meat etc. every once in a while or I start to feel sick. I plan to stop using NS foods (replacing quick meal plans with other decent tasting frozen low fat meals from the store) but keep up the salad and veggies habit. Weighing yourself weekly for life is just about the only way to stay on track 🙁
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company’s size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm’s responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
I use the meal planner to help me eat healthier, and since there are snacks and desserts included I don’t have to wonder what I can have. My favorite food is the black beans and rice, and the cheese ravioli. These are really filling and taste good too. Even when my kids come over for dinner on the weekends, I still eat healthy meals and don’t stray from the types of foods I eat during the week. I exercise like I should and follow the plan so that I can lose weight and be healthy at the same time.
Unlike competitors, Hagan steers clear of celebrity endorsers. Weight Watchers International (WTW ) features Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, and Jenny Craig recently embraced Fat Actress star Kirstie Alley. NutriSystem’s ads feature actual customers, such as Duren, who have shed pounds. “Celebrities are risky,” Hagan says. “If they don’t lose the weight [or relapse] it can work against you.”
With the Core and Uniquely Yours plans, it is possible to further customize the menus to suit your taste as well as the opportunity to include meals designed for those with certain food intolerance, such as gluten; wheat or lactose, for example.
My sisters and I are really close. There are four of us. All of us love to eat, we love to eat together, and we are all obese. For Christmas, we decided to invest in our bodies instead of on Christmas gifts for one another. So, we all bought a 28-day Nutrisystem Women’s Basic Plan. Let me tell you, the results are stunning.
Hey Jack, glad to hear you’re going great on the diet and thanks for your perspective on what I’ve always said is a really great program for busy people who don’t have the time or inclination to work with a traditional diet they have to prepare themselves.
Nutrisystem has established itself as the best meal delivery diet program on the planet, but does it really work? I have tried the diet multiple times now, and I can confirm that it does, in fact, produce amazing weight loss results if you follow their plan correctly and stay committed to the program.
With the Nutrisystem plan I go online everyday and log onto Nutrisystem’s website to see my progress. I also check the discussion group forums and talk to other men who are trying to lose weight. I enjoy using the Nutrisystem web site.
The Nutrisystem diet was created in the early 1970s by Harold Katz, first as a liquid protein drink program, then as a series of weight-loss centers. In the late 1990s, Nutrisystem developed into an online heat-and-eat meal delivery service. The program is based on the premise that it’s easier for dieters to lose weight if they don’t have to plan and prepare their own meals, but instead have access to ready-made, pre-portioned entrees and snacks that keep daily caloric intake low. The meals emphasize lean protein and carbohydrates with a low glycemic index such as whole grains and vegetables.
Thanks for sharing your story. Dec 1 I started Turbo 10 and I’m down almost 6 pounds. Drinking over 100 ounces and eating tons of leafy greens. I did NS about 4 years ago lost almost 50. went off to maintain. met a guy, guy loves to eat. he didnt gain but I did. This past July was told my chloerstral and blood pressure was too high for 28 year old. So black Friday I ordered when prices decreased. I’m excited to restart everything and lose weight again. Thanks for sharing your story. I’m excited for my own results to come!

OK, Nutrisystem is not the perfect diet, by any stretch of the imagination, I’ll grant you. But it’s a good way to get started for many folks that don’t want to go counting calories or see a dietitian. Their small, nutritionally balanced meals teach your body to get used to eating smaller meals and to stop eating junk.
Convenience: Main entrees can be ordered with the click of a mouse, but restaurant meals are only occasionally allowed. Alcohol is discouraged, but possible since you get up to three extras per day (about 100 calories total) to use as you want. Time spent at the grocery store is limited. When you’re ready to wean yourself off the program, it offers recipes and coaches. Online resources are free and helpful.
I like your review. Smart, intelligent, and not spiteful…yet still covering the “weakness” of the plan, i.e. not the BEST tasting food ever. It is enjoyable to read well organized and constructed reviews; and good spelling is the icing on the cake!
I am a senior citizen who was unaware that (as William, so rudely implied on the phone) that I had signed up for auto shipment. I initially chatted with a representative to assist me in selecting my foods. He helped me in my selections. Never, at any time was the word “auto ship” mentioned. I just spoke with William on the phone, who was so rude to me and would not allow me to speak with his supervisor. He informed me that I will be charge with $125 cancellation fee for the return of this order being sent. I told him I could not afford another order & never would have agreed to a reorder.
I have been on Nutrisystem for 3 months and have lost 26lbs, i like the food and it is very convenient to take to work, the diet does not work without the excerise along with it. the powerwalk cd is wonderful and i am seeing amazing results i have dropped 2 sizes and will keep on going with this diet till i loose 40lbs more. if you don’t like a certain food then don’t order it the next time its very simple, you have to be serious about loosing weight and keeping it off if you want to be successful, for a person with a back injury, knee surgery and shoulder surgery i am having no problem doing the exercises and my back is stronger than ever. good luck
Skipping food after dinner isn’t the only pre-bed ritual that can help you lose weight. Get 5 other to-dos that can help you lose weight the next day: http://ntri.co/6006DVWqI pic.twitter.com/9jXMbvJrWI
Nutrisystem will happily part you from your hard earned money. Make sure you know you have to take two auto deliveries or you will be charged an additiinal 90 bucks for the supposed discount they offered. I don’t know about you but don’t you get sick of companies manipulating and scheming how to deceive you and get more money. I’m just so tired as a consumer. Anyway, Nutrisystem zapped me on this one and I wanted to warn others.
NOTE: This is a blog about two guys attempting to lose weight over a six-week period. They kicked off their weight loss “strategies” on Monday . Discipline. That’s what I need. If I’m going to shed the 25 pounds in 12 weeks, I’ve got to take it more seriously. When Cartman wanted to gain those extra pounds to be a “beefcake” in the first season of South Park, he manned up. He ordered “Weight Gain 4000.” (I included the video below)
The regular plans are not too expensive; there are different plans at different price levels. If you want to spend only $10 per day they have a plan for you. You can also buy the most expensive plan at $12. With this plan you won’t have to supplement as much. The program cost is comparable to what you would normally spend on meals for one person at your regular grocery store.
* Did NOT skip meals or starve themselves. Not eating all the food actually worked against members more than any other issue involving a lack of weight loss. It’s called starvation mode. Your body basically thinks it’s starving and starts to retain water and calories, preventing you from losing.
Hi, Heather. These entries aren’t dated, so I don’t know if this advice will help you or juts someone else down the road. I also worried about the $300 hit. Here’s the real picture, though: I averaged how much I had spent at the grocery store and drive thru’s for 3 months. I live alone. With my new grocery store bill and the cost of the Nutrisystem, I’m at just a bit LESS. I also have 2 very important suggestions for everyone since Hurricane Harvey took out my kitchen and helped me to pack on 20 pounds in 3+ months. First, take the time to put the food on a plate like you would normally eat. When the entree is placed next to the salad and vegetables, it really doesn’t look like that much less food than I was normally eating. PLUS, it takes your mind off of “diet” and onto healthy eating. It’s a mental thing. Second, don’t look at the end game. Focus on the journey. Even if it takes me a year to lose the weight since I’m in my 50’s, each month, I will be less than before, either in pounds or inches. Take the time to praise yourself for the positive change. Just because I’m not at my final goal doesn’t mean that I’m not a better me, especially in attitude! I’ll be a new me for my new house. Based on how it’s going, we should both reach the end game at the same time. Ha
Then mid-morning I would have what they call a power fuel and a smart carb, which is some greek yogurt or cottage cheese with fresh fruit. Next I would have my lunch in a few hours. For lunch I would have a big salad with lots of veggies and a low-fat low-calorie dressing. My favorite dressings are Greek yogurt based and considered a limited extra on the Nutrisystem plan because they are 35 calories per serving. You can have up to 3 limited extras throughout the day.
Alcohol: The Nutrisystem program recommends abstinence from, or limiting, alcohol consumption because “alcoholic beverages […] tend to be high in calories and often contain extensive fat, cholesterol and sodium.”
Thank you Norman! Only 2 days in and I’m down 3.5 lbs. It seems as soon as I get hungry it’s time for another meal or snack so that’s working well too AND….. I haven’t yet tried a food item I don’t like (that’s probably my problem, LOL) Loving it so far! Thanks again.
Today is my 7th day on the diet (first 5+ week). I’m supposed to lose 5+ guaranteed! But I have only lost 2.4 lbs!!! I will give it a couple more days. If I don’t lose any more. I will return all their food and want my money back. I hope they don’t give me a hard time for that.
