I was very successful on Nutrisystem 25 years ago, back when you had to go to the store weekly to weigh-in and get your food. I lost 75 pounds back then! I kept most of the weight off for many years. I quit smoking 10 years ago and while that was a great decision, I really started to pack on the weight…about 7 pounds per year. So, now I find myself back to where I started only 25 years older (now 50). So, I just placed my order and I’m looking forward to getting this weight off! You were right..I have now lost 8.9 lbs….I love green beans..are you allowed to buy canned green beans..or anything canned at all ?…I still have 13lbs I am wanting to lose…can’t do exercise for now due to foot surgery….and I also find it hard to get my dessert in..because you eat 6 times a day….will this hinder my weight loss?……Are you allowed Coffee on Nutrisystem? I use to drink decafe coffee.(never been a heavy drinker of coffee..maybe 1 a day)….but have cut it out…I did use truvia and skim milk when I used to drink it..but was wondering if this would be a No-No!…I do not drink any soda at all…just sticking to water…and What about any teas?…..Just want to lose the lbs..so trying to get any info I can about this diet…seem to be working..but was just wondering about a few things…Thanks for the encouragement, anything that will help me stay on track.

Hey Mary, it’s early days but you’ll be surprised how the weight will start dropping off over time. The water really helps things along and is so important so persevere because it’s worth it. Good luck!

I started the NS plan on February 15. I haven’t stuck with it 100% (a few dinners out here and there) but I am disappointed that I only lost 6.5 lbs. I am 5’7″ and my starting weight was 177. I’m currently 170.4. I haven’t added veggies. I don’t feel super deprived (likely because of my few side trips) but I can’t help but feel that I should have lost more weight. I should probably add that I am 48 and post menopausal – I do work out most days for 30-40min (either a treadmill or Beach Body videos) and I have three labradors who I walk most days (they’re not strollers!). Ugh. Just feeling a little discouraged but I intend to finish out my second month.

Hi Colleen. All dieters have different weight loss results. Some users loose weight faster/slower than others. To receive optimal results it is advised to follow all the instructions provided with your purchase.

I just finished my 4th day of being on NS and am sending the food back on Monday. The food, in my opinion, is absolutely disgusting. I just had the chicken alfredo, and the closest thing I can liken the smell to is sweaty tennis shoes! It is overly processed, chemical-laden mush, and while I was willing to deal with that to an extent in order to drop some weight, I absolutely can’t muster through one more bite of something I honestly would not feed to my dog. It is a combination of hospital food and military rations. Ugh. And to those who ask “what did I expect”, I would say that I have had plenty of packaged dinners that were at least edible. If you are someone who likes and appreciates good food, then I don’t think this diet is for you. If you’re happy picking up a dried out mess at some big-box-store cafeteria, then you might think this is okay.

The food was horrible 🙁 So full of preservatives, I dont even know why I tried it! I have a lot of food leftover if anyone wants to buy it cheap from me! I wont charge that much, I hate to just throw it out but wont eat it! Please feel free to let me know if you want it.

I joined the Nutrisystem men’s basic plan because I really needed to lose weight. I had tried losing weight on my own a few times but it was too hard to count calories and weigh out all of my food (what a time sucker!). I always got discouraged about losing the weight.

First let me began by saying I am 45, 5’9 and weigh 197 lbs. I had weight loss surgery 3 years ago where my heaviest I weighed 276 lbs and my lowest 167lbs. So after the surgery, 3 years later I have gained back a total of 30 lbs. this is because I am a Hospice Nurse and work NOC shift and eat all night mostly McDonalds. I am addicted to McDonalds Cokes, I buy at least 3-4 a day! Needless to say I am tired of being sluggish, overweight, jittery and grumpy! I knew I needed to first stop the soda period! So I did that and on the same day went to Walmart and purchased 2 of the Homestyle packs so I can try it for 10 days. I just started on NS. I am on day 3. I thought that I would have total withdrawals from having quit Soda cold turkey on day 1 but I have only had an occasional headache. I have had gas also but that is ok. I am not hungry at all thanks to eating the 6 small meals and also that my stomach doesn’t hold that much anyways. I do want to say that the food is actually very good at least all the ones I have had so far have been! I haven’t weighed myself yet because I want to be surprised and weigh at the end of the week. This is really easy to follow. I haven’t exercised at all but I plan on incorporating it into my schedule. Here is to a New Me in 2016! Good luck everyone!

My biggest beef with Nutrisystem is the lack of quality ingredients. The food you get from them have processed components. The best way to lose weight is to cook your food from scratch. You won’t mindlessly snack if everything has to be made from scratch. Skip fad diets like this and take control yourself.
