That said, I do really like the meals, especially the breakfast choices. The muffins and granola bars taste really good. So do the cereals. The lunches are pretty good, but I absolutely love the pasta dishes for dinner.
Fleta, Maryann and all discouraged, I’ve been on NS for one month and lost 15 lbs. I have no problem with the food but there is some that I like and some I don’t care for but my goal is to lose the weight. I have 60 lbs to go and getting excited because I feel so much better. My husband is on it as well. We are empty nesters and don’t have to worry about cooking for children so the NS food cost is actually less than our regular food bill. Add salads, veggies, proteins, etc as the plan calls for and you won’t concentrate on the food taste you seem to focus on. Don’t throw your money away…just focus on your goal—-loose weight and feel better! Stay on it and you will lose inches and the weight will come. Follow the plan faithfully! Love and Kisses, DivaDeb54
1: $70 a week for all your meals (3x per day) is actually very cheap unless you are really broke living below the poverty line and if that’s you, I’m sorry for you. Most Americans spend more per day on feeding their ever expanding bodies with too much junk and additive laden convenience foods. $10 a day is less than I spend on breakfast at my local diner.
Nutrisystem is a weight loss plan that takes the guesswork out of figuring what you can eat and when. It eliminates calorie counting, keeping track of carbs, and even searching for point values to stay under an allotted amount. It also gets rid of having to figure out what the proper proportions for your plate are at each meal and at snack time. Like many other diet plans, you are still restricted to a certain diet and are not supposed to eat whatever you desire.
I also did the Silver plan for 28 days (its not 30 like you said) and lost a total of 7 pounds and I’m really happy about it! Sure, I thought the pasta meals were hit and miss and some were poor while others were really good. I think compared with the processed trash you buy in the supermarket that is also full of sodium and lord knows what other additives, the NS food is more than passable.

I have been on the nutrisystem mail plan for about 4 days now. Sunday evening for dinner I had the chicken alfredo and I felt like I wanted to gag. And then on Monday I had the Kung Pao Spicy noodles and yet again I wanted to gag. Is that normal? Or better yet, is this happening to anyone else? What should I do.
If you bought the first month at a discount rate with auto-delivery, there is a charge for early cancellation which point out in my review and its clearly explained in the terms on the Nutrisystem website home page. It’s not the fault of customer service which is generally pretty good.
If you start to go off the plan by eating your meals out too much or cheating with an occasional supreme pizza, you are probably not going to see the results you are looking for. By following the plan exactly, you will lose weight. It’s just that simple. Sticking to it is the challenge. The Nutrisystem plan helps by also providing some sweeter options that are low-fat and low-calorie to take care of your sweet tooth in the process.
I just started the 5 day trial .. I did purchase the D plan for diabetic because this is what was available at Walmart at the time. The prepared foods makes it so much earier and as much as I have read horrible stories on the taste, I have to disagree. Sure the muffin isn’t fluffy and the foods are processed but they take the challenge out of calorie counting and preparing. I so far actually have not had anything I would call awful. It’s pretty darn good. Portions may be small but you eat all day on this plan. Also, keep in mind your great food and large portions is why you are now purchasing this product. Going into my 3rd day… haven’t weighed again but feel great and body feels lighter and happier … I recommend this product and will be purchasing more.
The NutriSystem program has a number of online features, like a food log, weight tracking tools, chat rooms, and blogs. You can also email or call a NutriSystem registered dietitian or weight-loss counselor.
I just finished two weeks on Nutrisystem. I’m desperately trying to lose 30 pounds, and I’ve been desperately trying to do that for five years! I’ve tried every weight loss program out there. You name it, I’ve done it! Nutrisystem was my last resort! I figured if I spent the money for the food, maybe I would actually stick to the plan and lose some weight.

While there is no free trial, the company does offer a money-back guarantee, but it only applies to the first order of a new, four-week plan. If you are unsatisfied with your plan, send the remaining food back within 14 days of receipt for a full refund–you are responsible for return shipping charges, however. Only one money-back guarantee is available per customer. This is a bit short-sighted, as you are basically out of luck if you try a new meal and don’t like it.
I am so happy that I have lost this weight. My initial goal was to get to 180 pounds. I believed that I couldn’t get any smaller than that. I know 180 pounds is a high number but I am a large frame person and I am 5’9” tall. I can’t remember a time when I weighed much less than 180. Once I reached 180 easily I just kept going for another 10 pounds. I love the way I look and I love the way I feel even more. Words cannot describe the amount of energy and confidence I have. I have always been fairly confident but now I feel as if nobody can stop me. I feel as though I can do anything I put my mind to. Being overweight had me living a life with lots of limits. Now I am totally able to do anything I want to do.
I am 5’2 and 155 lbs. I want to try NS, but after reading all the comments, questions, praises, and complaunts, I’m afraid that I’ll gain weight instead of losing it. I don’t have any major health issues except for the fact that I am overweight. I want to lose at least 30 lbs, fast.Does anyone think it will work, or should I just try something by Dr. Ian Smith? I don’t want to throw my money in the trash… oh, did I mention that I have a hard time eating, smelling, or cooking chicken… it literally makes me sick to my stomach… would that really affect me?
The food is great, and the daily logs help me to really understand where my progress lies. My favorite meal is the three cheese pasta with chicken because I love cheese and this is so flavorful. I had pancakes for breakfast this morning from the mix, and they were so good.
They designed the program and the foods, so they’re great at picking what will work best for your weight loss plan, and selecting some of their most tasty meals and snacks. In any case, this was an easy choice for me because with the Favorite’s Pack I saved both time AND money.
I agree. I had been struggling to try to curb my carb and sugar addictions. After moving from Florida to Ohio 8 years ago, my lifestyle came to a screeching halt….and I put on about 30 lbs over that time. I’ve tried several diets and they worked short term but I’ve always gone back to my old eating habits I picked up after moving. So 4 weeks ago I decided to try NutraSystem. As of yesterday I’ve lost 13 lbs. I really love the fact that I don’t have to think about what to eat…I like the grab and go and not having to prepare foods too much. Not that I’m lazy, I love to cook, but eating this way is teaching me portion control…it’s shrinking my stomach size and I truly feel full after eating my meals and because of the snacks (low fat string cheese, almonds, yogurt, etc.), I’m not getting hungry in between meals…and I love the fact that I can have a snack in the evening. I’m going to stick with this…waiting for my second order to arrive this week. It was nice to be able to choose the foods I want so I was able to avoid the items that made me gassy. Good luck…stick with it, and try to learn something along the way.
In reality, your digestive system needs time to break down the food that you eat. If you are constantly bombarding it with new meals then it stops digesting your previous meal and gets started on the new one.
All of their products use natural ingredients without any artificial colorings, flavorings, or preservatives. They also have a wide range of food options available that are suitable for vegans, vegetarians, and people who suffer from common allergies.
Does it work? “People really seem to love message boards, but there is no data yet to show whether they are effective in helping with weight loss,” says Binks. But telephone support has some evidence in its favor: “A couple of studies have shown that telephone support is just as effective as live support,” says Christine Gerbstadt, M.D., spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.
If you decide to have a drink, choose wisely since beverages vary in alcohol, sugar and caloric content. Wine, which contains about 100 calories per five ounces, and light/low carb beer, which contains approximately 95-100 calories per 12 ounces, are lower calorie choices.
I thought it was okay… not gourmet food by a long way, but it was pretty good overall. I stuck to the diet and only added broccoli and kale to the main meals and ate an apple every day cause I heard that they keep the doctor away hehe… Well, I lost 11 pounds over four weeks and to be honest, i never lost anything before on other diets so I was pretty delighted, to say the least.
I just ordered my first 28 days worth of NS food and I must say I am extremely dissapointed. I read TONS of review on the net and found that a huge portion was positive feedback. I have only tried the double chocolate muffin, chocolate chip scone, chocolate cake and black bean soup, I know its a lot of chocolate, but i haven’t even been wanting to try anything else since that stuff was so gross. It tastes like preservatives and chemicals and it’s very dry. Maybe the lunch and dinners aren’t as bad but for the breakfasts and deserts I have ordered it is disgusting.
The reason Nutrisystem is successful is because the company takes all of the hard work out of dieting: they send you virtually everything you need in order to diet. You eat the food, and you start losing weight quickly. It’s that simple.
Reviewer “Angela” said she decided to order one kit, check it out and if it worked, she’d sign up on the Nutrisystem website. “I ended up losing 11.1 pounds in the first month using various boxes purchased at Walmart and without excercise.[sic] I just signed up for nutrisystem on their website a little over a week ago and received my first month of food a few days later. Good luck if you decide to try this. So far it has worked for me!”
How did I do it? Well let me admit at the top that I did it without exercise. I am not proud of the fact I really hate exercise. It isn’t the exercise itself that I despise, it’s the breaking away from the crazy, hectic, busyness of my full life and adherence to my never ending to-do list which never leaves space for exercise. UGHH. I know it’s a problem. I will address this in month two as I fear I will plateau without it so I am prepared to tackle this in a big way.
If you had read my review here before purchasing, you’d see I included that information quite clearly. It’s important that everyone knows about this rule because I often hear from folks who thought they could get a cheap deal for a month and then cancel without paying for any more. But that’s not how it works and without knowing, those customers get a surprise they didn’t expect when the company charges their card for a second month and ships the food.
