I’m sure that this is because I don’t have to cook lunch and dinner. I can’t stand cooking, so I usually eat out. I am single, and it is much easier to just go through a drive-thru window for fast food than it is to cook for one person. Because I’m prone to do that, I’ve gained about 30 pounds that I shouldn’t be carrying. Now with Nutrisystem, I’m able to have my prepared meals ready to go at work and at home. The lunches and dinners are the very best thing about this plan. The food tastes so great. I absolutely love the Hearty Beef Stew because it reminds me of the stew my mom used to make for me when I was a kid. And I adore the Macaroni and Cheese as well.
To people like “# 15 Shirley Says” who said she only lost 3.5 lbs in the 3 weeks till she gave up on it, how can you call that a failure? Imagine if you had stayed with it for 6 months to a year. In 6 moths there is 26 weeks. You lost over a pound a week. You would weight 26lbs less. In a year you would have lost 50 lbs. That’s HUGE. Just because you don’t see a big drop as you can’t exercise at the start, sticking with it will make a huge difference. This was a success story waiting to be written. Try the pick your own food plan which is currently 11.00 a day. It’s not so much when it works and saves you so much time and you won’t be going out to eat, stopping at a drive through out of laziness to cook or ordering in food that is very costly.
I have been on the program for over 2 years and so far lost 75 lbs. I still have more to go but I must say on one of my dinners I was shortchanged on the turkey medallions not to mention they were extremely hard. This was the first and only time since I was on the program I had a problem and they immediately gave me a credit and one other time sent me the wrong lunch bar and promptly sent what I wanted. I think their program is great and not out to extort money. I think you are out to extort money.
So far, my favorite is the mushroom risotto, the chicken with dumplings, and the chili with beans, the flame broiled beef patty, the barbecue sauce pork wrap, the chocolate chocolate chip pudding, the chocolate crunch bar, the chocolate chip cookie, the creamy tomato sauce, the blueberry pancakes and the blueberry muffins. I could go on and on about the rest of Nutrisystem’s dishes but I’m making myself hungry 😉 I enjoy eating all of Nutrisystem’s foods. I do not think I have found a food that I did not like yet.
Weight Watchers has been around for what seems like forever and has a large band of loyal followers. It once relied on support groups and face-to-face counseling to help dieters stay on course. Those options are still available but online and mobile app support has displaced a lot of facetime.
The basic plan is a 28-day plan using their quick-star Lean13 plan, which allows you to lose up to 13 pounds and 7 inches in your first month. This is made possible with the Turbo Takeoff system, which includes specially selected meal items that offer benefits like:
The regular plans are not too expensive; there are different plans at different price levels. If you want to spend only $10 per day they have a plan for you. You can also buy the most expensive plan at $12. With this plan you won’t have to supplement as much. The program cost is comparable to what you would normally spend on meals for one person at your regular grocery store.
Nutrisystem still may be a bargain compared to competitor Jenny Craig. Unless you catch them during a promotion, Jenny Craig charges a registration fee on top of its meals, which generally runs at least $100 a week.
My weekday looks like this. Morning 6:30am, two cups of coffee with sweetner only, no cream. My Nutrisystem breakfast. I have become fond of the muffins. They are easy and quick. 7-8 seconds in the microwave and they are awesome. I go to work and eat lunch about 1:20pm. Lunch is a small Walmart salad, the ones that come with everything including the fork, and my Nutrisystem entree. I may also eat a nonfat yogurt but, not always. Middle of the day, if I really feel hungry I will eat an apple. About two hours from dinner time, if I’m really hungry I’ll drink a Nutrisystem shake (My favorite is the vanilla with crushed ice). For dinner I’ll eat another Walmart salad and another entree and maybe another nonfat yogurt. At about 9pm I eat my Nutrisystem snack, the carrot cake is fantastic. And that’s what a regular guys week looks like on Nutrisystem.
The nutrisystem moderators do not prevent members from being verbally attacked and abused on the blogs which are used more like discussion boards than blogs because the discussion boards aren’t designed well. .If you report bullying and abuse to the moderators they will do absolutely nothing. Politics and extreme religious opinions being spewed at people and Nutrisystem must like it because they let it go on and on.
I wanted to lose 20 pounds, but ended up shaving off 30 pounds thanks to Nutrisystem. Now that I am off the plan I am back to eating my wife’s cooking; however, I now know how to eat healthier and how to pace myself so I eat smaller portions.

“While some of the foods may look like typical “off limit”, Nutrisystem® D® has the optimal amount of low-glycemic, fiber-rich carbohydrates, protein and fats, with 12g or less of sugar in each meal or snack. These nutrients help your body digest glucose slowly, and this prevents spikes in blood sugar while keeping you satisfied.”
I am 48 yrs. old and am on my third week of nutrisystem. I was looking to lose just 10 lbs in three weeks to fit into a special dress. i have been stag-net at 7 for this entire third week. i do exercise for 30-40 minutes a day 5 days a weeks also (not vigorous, just walking of the elliptical. my clothes fit better, and i feel good, i think if you added in a walk or two you would definitely meet your goal . the portions are so controlled, it may just be water weight you are seeing.
Nutrisystem works! I’ve been on the womens plan for one month and am down 17 lbs. 😀 it works IF you are dedicated to following it strictly and not cheating. If you are not disciplined and 100% on board with staying with the program, it will not produce the results you desire. I already feel better physically and mentally. My daughter and my husband even joined after I had been on the program for 3 weeks due to my results. So thankful I decided to choose Nutrisystem!
I tried Nutri System almost two years ago and lost 22 pounds pretty quickly. If I need it again, I’ll try the vegetarian meals as I hear they’re just as tasty and easy to prepare the Basic Plan. I gave the Basic Plan 4 stars because one shipment of food I received was missing two snack bars. Be sure to count your food when you get it to ensure everything is there.
The size of the meals is considered by some as being on the small side. This is especially when compared with an overweight person’s regular meals. But you may have noticed that overweight people generally tend to eat more than they should. That means the regular meal size is larger than a thin person’s regular meal size.
The Nutrisystem men’s basic plan is very convenient to use too. I take my frozen lunch with me to work and I can get more work done while losing weight! The plan is also very simple to follow, just follow their instructions. Don’t deviate by eating snickers bars, okay?! Stay away from those evil vending machines too! If you drink coffee, stop using creamer as I discovered I was drinking an extra 300 calories a day in coffee creamer!
After one month the whole diet thing was easier as I was no longer craving foods like before. The cravings were not completely gone but walking away from a piece of cake or pizza was no longer a challenge. I had my own Nutrisystem goodies such as chocolate, pizza, potatoes, muffins and more. I didn’t feel deprived of any of my favorite foods.
“I didn’t know what turbo was or that there are restrictions or how this diet works. I’m glad I reached out to find a lot of helpful information without me even asking. Seems like they want you to succeed and are encouraging. I also had a problem with my order and ended up getting meat foods which I couldn’t eat. I was really upset and I’m glad the issue was resolved within the same phone call. Truly stellar people working at Nutrisystem.”
I started Nutrisystem right before the holidays, and I can’t believe how well it worked. I knew that waiting until the New Year to start the Women’s Basic Plan wasn’t going to work because I could not wait one more day to try and start losing weight. So, I ordered my food on the Basic Plan and scheduled my “free days” for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. I still lost weight! Incredible! I made sure to that there weren’t going to be a lot of leftovers so that I could go back to my Nutrisystem meals the day after the holidays without being tempted by the fatty holiday foods.
Nutrisystem offers a wide variety of meals choices and snack options to choose from. Its most extensive plan offers over 150. You can get the allowed add-on options on your own from the supermarket, giving you even more variety. However, even though the variety is plentiful, some of your favorites may not be there or not taste as you make them yourself and that could be potentially frustrating for some.
I say don’t knock it till you’ve tried it. The food may be prepackaged but compared to the high sodium meals you get when you eat out or junk you buy in the grocery store, it is healthy! I was on it for 2 weeks and lost 10lbs.
I have been on the program for a little over a month. Have already seen results. The food is absolutely delicious and I love the variety. Have already had to ask a question and received a prompt and courteous answer. I am a very satisfied customer and will recommend the program.
This diet plan is trying to change lifestyles, not individual, short term practices. Initial goals such as 7 pounds from the waistline with the Lean 13 program are meant to drive momentum. Clients are expected to follow directions and to remain consistent with the program to achieve the final result. However, Nutrisystem understands that all programs are meant to end at some point. They claim to give the nutritional advice for clients to keep whether they stay on the meal plans or not.

2. Tastes good. I can’t understand the bad reviews about the food. I hate high sodium, processed food. The food in this program tastes pretty good, not great homemade, but does not taste overly processed to me. I cook homemade meals (largely organic, fresh) almost every night for my family, so I am not a processed food eater usually, and I like the food. Admittedly, I am not a great cook, so most of the meals I make are pretty simple and not perfectly cooked or flavored. Maybe the food on this program is better tasting than my usual fare? I don’t know, but I found it easy to prepare a meal for my family and yet eat my own food because it tastes so good.
Nutrisystem is the only weight loss program I have ever participated in. I have tried counting calories and that does work for me. I just never stuck to it long enough to see any significant results. I have an addictive personality. Food has been my drug for a long time. I knew it was going to be difficult to kick the habit but Nutrisystem gave me the tools I needed to be successful.
Actually if you follow the diet you get around 1200 or so ….. fresh veggies and fruit ….. the food isn’t 5 star but is good , and if sweets are ur down fall this will give u the sweets without the calories .
Nutrisystem is pretty wonderful in one aspect, may favorite: Portion size control. I realize that I had be programed to expect too much food. We’re eating too much food, period. On my first morning (this round) of Nutrisystem I opened the granola cereal packet and dumped it in a bowl. I thought “This ain’t enough”. But, guess what, it was. I was comfortable. The process of re-programing myself took a couple of weeks, maybe that entire month to really get used to portion control. But, now I have gotten used to it I like it. Now when I go to a restaurant and see how much food they put on a plate it just gets me. No wonder Americans can’t control their weight. We are programmed to think that we need way more food than we do. Also, now I really enjoy food so much more. My taste buds must be working better but, I enjoy food more while eating far less and no cheap, junk foods.
I have to echo what other posters have said. I’m not going to say I *never* feel hungry on this diet, just that the munchies are much more subdued than they were when I was skipping breakfast and lunch to lose weight (bad idea). I also have to say that three days into this diet and I already feel like I have more energy, probably because I’m eating through the day and not skipping meals, and my muscles aren’t protesting all the crap I was eating before.
Top athletes such as Dan Marino vouch for the Nutrisystem for Men diet plan. Dan himself lost 22 pounds on the Nutrisystem for Men plan, and it comes highly recommended by many medical professionals as well. Nutrisystem for Men claims to give guys the hearty, full meals they crave without the need for all of the grease, fat and sodium that usually accompanies these big, meaty endeavors. Not only do guys get the thick meals they want, but it helps guys lose weight and improve their health just as quickly as its “for women” counterpart. This diet plan has over 150 options for meals. The Nutrisystem for Men plan also includes free FedEx shipping, and the company advertises having 40 years of experience creating diet plans for men. Some of the plans for men include the following:
Ordering a month’s worth of food is easy, and the items are already made for you. But you won’t have your usual degree of control over what foods you choose to eat. And you may get fewer calories than you’re used to.
ur calorie intake is around 1000, so even if u dont exercise u are guaranteed to lose weight. (u typically need anywhere from 1500-2000 calories a day to maintain weight) 1 lb of weight is 3500 calories…so u see where im going.
