“I canceled my account with Weight Watchers over a month ago, and they still took out my payment,” said Tiki of Clayon, N.C., in a typical review. I will never again trust them with my bank account information. Luckily, I paid through Paypal and I plan to appeal it. They make their cancellation process so confusing that when you think you have cancelled, you really haven’t.”
One of the biggest advantages with the Nutrisystem meal replacement diet program is that it has been designed for those people who want to get back in shape but don’t really have the time or inclination to be spending too much time in their kitchen!
The core plan includes all this, but more food choices. You’ll also get plenty of perks available through Nutrisystem, including access to dieticians, counselors, trackers, and other valuable resources. This plan starts at $10.54 per day, and costs $294.99 with auto-delivery for women, and $334.99 for men. The custom version of this package costs the same.
Although Nutrisystem has programs for “meat eaters” as well, the company recognizes the discipline that it takes to be a vegetarian. The vegetarian program has just as many meal options (100+) as the other programs. Here are a few of them:
Outside of food, the diet also includes counseling, which some say makes the difference. For me, the counseling was helpful. My friendly counselor, Jamie, called me every week to check on me and candidly answered my questions.
#1…the food is not bad tasting, however it is low calories and the portion sizes are SMALL! Meaning, in order to not stay hungry all day, you will have to add more foods other then veggies and fruits. They actually say you need 3 power fuels, 2 smart carbs, 4 servings of veggies and so on to feel full. Means you buying a ton of groceries on the side! In addition to low fat or fat free milk for cereal and everything has to be wheat, low fat or fat free, and if family doesn’t eat that…it’s extra groceries. It adds up fast!
I agree you can lose weight without doing any commercial diet program. Common sense is a pretty powerful thing when it’s used. A person’s body is their responsibility and if they gain weight, its up to them to actively work of getting back in shape. No one else can do that for you!
If you want to eat things like delicious chocolate cake, tasty brownies, cheese puffs, chocolate crunch bars, hearty beef stew, flame broiled beef patties, cheesy potatoes, pasta with beef, chocolate chip scones, cinnamon buns and egg frittatas and still lose weight, then you should try the Nutrisystem men’s basic plan.
First of all I didn’t lose but 4lbs on the turbo10. I followed it to the T. Then only lost 11 lbs in the 2 mths I did the diet. I followed it to a T. Now trying to ween myself fm NS is a nightmare!! I had terrible gas and awful bloating the whole time. I have constipation that I still haven’t been able to get any relief fm. When I try to eat my own food I get vilantly I’ll. Throwing up and still constipated. Just wanting to know if anyone else is feeling the same.
I have tried the Nutrisystem diet recently and for me it worked extremely well. I was overweight to the tune of 40 pounds and in one month on their diet I actually lost 28 pounds. I waited a while until I saved up some more money and I will get another month soon and I’m sure I will lose the rest.
Why is Nutrisystem a good diet? I think, because it’s not sort of ‘magic’ shake or drink that will solve all your problems with your health and weight. No, it’s a completed plan with prepackaged meals with the controlled amount of calories.
Nutrisystem meals are pre-made and engineered to deliver only a certain amount of calories per day based on your sex and age. Carbohydrates, which make up most of the diet, are low-glycemic. That means they are the type of carbohydrates that break down slowly and help control your appetite. Since everything is done for you, all you need to do is stick to the plan and you will lose weight.
I am on my 10th day on Nutrisystem and I absolutely love it! The food is great and a lot better tasting than Jenny Craig. I have lost 8 pounds so far and am really excited. I have 65 more to go to reach my goal weight. The website is full of good information and tons of motivation which I need and love!! Anyone can do this diet.
Having to pay for a diet is another way of motivation. If you are paying for it, you’re most likely to stay with it. Oh, and here is another benefit of losing weight…. Extra large clothes are more expensive, too!
Harvard studies have shown that women have a harder time losing weight than men. Women usually have lower metabolisms, higher body fat and lead more stressful lives. In response to this, Nutrisystem has created a plethora of meal plans that are dedicated specifically to women and their unique needs. Women can choose from a tiered program based upon their individual needs – Basic, Core and Uniquely Yours. Here are just a few of the choices that clients will have on the diet plan for women:
Debbie – It actually comes with 25 days of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner, because for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks, you are told to eat a flex meal once per week for either breakfast, lunch, and dinner (not all on the same day). So, the meals included are 25 (28 less 3).
The diet is reduced calories, and clinical trials undertaken by Nutrisystem have shown significant weight loss. On of the more recent studies of Lean 13 show an average 11.63 lb weight loss over the first four weeks.
Hi. Would you answer Ray Hearn’s question above? My husband and I are considering NS. Our stories are similar to Ray’s (up there in age and need to lose 60 lbs) and would like your opinion. We also do not want to purchase ANY other food if possible.
You are wrong about shipping. It is free when you pay full price for the plan, but if you the discount then it is deducted from any refund if you cancel before taking delivery of at least two months worth of food. That is also clearly stated.
I just started the 5 day trial .. I did purchase the D plan for diabetic because this is what was available at Walmart at the time. The prepared foods makes it so much earier and as much as I have read horrible stories on the taste, I have to disagree. Sure the muffin isn’t fluffy and the foods are processed but they take the challenge out of calorie counting and preparing. I so far actually have not had anything I would call awful. It’s pretty darn good. Portions may be small but you eat all day on this plan. Also, keep in mind your great food and large portions is why you are now purchasing this product. Going into my 3rd day… haven’t weighed again but feel great and body feels lighter and happier … I recommend this product and will be purchasing more.
Hi Barb! I was curious at its overall effectiveness because it seemed way too “easy” to do because of the major celebrity endorsement. I also think being restricted to only their foods would make it difficult if they weren’t delicious to begin with.
The 2018 advertising campaigns are multi-dimensional and utilize our brand ambassadors, social influencers and customer success stories. Our campaigns are integrated across television, digital and social media channels. Nutrisystem has a range of celebrity ambassadors to represent its broad appeal and extend its omni-channel reach. From those who have had continued success on the program — Marie Osmond, Dan Marino, Melissa Joan Hart, Soleil Moon Frye and Genie Francis — to social influencers and customers, too.
Diet plans are designed to help you lose weight and keep it off. Many diets delivers pre-packaged and fresh frozen foods to your door. The diet plans are for people that are overweight and folks that want to maintain their weight..
I lost over 50lbs on NutriSystem. The food was not horrible at the time, but it is hard to maintain that weight loss once I was off the program (like any diet I guess). I would recommend it for anyone who does not have time to prepare healthy meals for themselves. I tried to restart the program after I gained some weight back though, and I couldnt bring myself to eat the food again. It wasnt bad then, but it does get expensive so I’m trying to go the cheaper route.
Hey AMW, I’m sorry it didn’t work for you but I’m a little confused. You said you your problem was “not eating enough” which might have most of the folks reading this thinking you were underweight to start with–and by eating more you’d naturally gain and not lose weight. Maybe you could clear that part up so we can understand your personal situation better. Thanks.
I am in my third month of ordering from NutriSystem,” wrote Cate of St. Louis. “I order online and pay extra for the privilege of ordering the meals I want rather than doing the automatic ship where they choose the meals. For two of the three months I have ordered, they have shipped me substituted items, and I quote here from the letter that arrives with my order:
