“Nutrisystem 5 day Weight Loss kit 4 6 lbs”

I was just reading the comment by Toni and it mirrors my own experience with my husband. We’ve been going with nutrisystem for 3 weeks and he lost 11 lbs to my 9 lbs so far. We both like the food and I was surprised at how good it really is after reading some people don’t like it and some even hate it. It takes all sorts I guess. We’re planning to continue for the second month and if we’re still doing this good after that, we’re on for a third!

I am on day 27. Did turbo plan. Lost 5 lbs first several days and have not lost anything since. Major plateau and very discouraging. I am going to stick with it another month. New delivery should be today. I started at 175 – 5’8″ tall. lost 1 inch in waist, chest and thigh. That is it. I have stuck to the plan. Not understanding how I’m not dropping weight. My breakfast used to be 1000 calories.

Does it work? Yes. A 2007 study of 160 people in the Journal of American Medical Association found the Zone diet helped people achieve modest weight loss after one year, comparable with those on the Atkins, Weight Watchers and Ornish diets, and improved cardiac risk factors.

The first few months I had to log what I ate each day.  I also logged the amount of exercise that I did.  Now I am able to do the logging in my head.  I eat more now than I did when I was actively trying to lose weight but I still monitor my weight and if I see it going up I just go back to doing what I did to lose the weight and keep it down where it needs to be.  Weight is going to be a lifelong battle for me.  I am always going to have to exercise and watch what I eat but now I know how to do it.  I know that if I do find myself gaining weight I can lose it again.  I am going to be very attentive to my body and keep watching myself to try and never be overweight again.

Eating out was more of a challenge for me, but I found a good rhythm, though we don’t eat out much anyway. My solution to eating out was to order a large leafy green salad, without dressing and I was usually good.

I’ll be totally honest too – when that first shipment of meals came and I actually began following the plan, things were not easy. I had become accustomed to overeating at every meal, while also eating anything I wanted – lots of McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and pretty much any other fast food option you can think of.

There are over 150 menu items to choose from when you pick your plan. There is a lot of variety there, so you won’t get bored eating the same foods over and over again. You can customize the plan by selecting each individual meal or snack, or they have sample “favorite” menus. This way you don’t have to make the choices yourself if you would rather handle it in that manner.

I really like that I don’t need to count calories or spend a lot of time preparing meals. I have been pretty good about completing the daily logs online (exercise, meals, water, etc.). They help me keep on track.

I was on this diet along with my mom, my dad, and later my brother before he moved out. All 4 of us lost weight on it. We followed the meal plans for daily intake and ate out every saturday night just making better decisions then we did before. This gave us a little taste of the “good fatty foods” so that we didn’t get burnt out on the nutrisystem.

If you watch any amount of cable television, you’ve probably seen the Nutrisystem commercials showing celebrities and regular people claiming to have shed large numbers of pounds. While it’s possible to lose weight on Nutrisystem, you should always talk to your doctor before starting the program because it may or may not be the right method for you.

It did not exceed my daily calorie allowance, but I was not losing weight. I decided to cut out the dairy and the extras and do NutriSystem with just 1000 calories per day and I’m finally losing weight. Try this and see if it works for you. Good Luck.

I’ve been on nutrisystem twice. The first time I lost 35 lbs, then I had a baby, now I’m working on the second time through. The food has greatly improved since last time I was on it. I also tried the vegetarian route but got quite bored with it since there isn’t much variety yet and it also gave me stomach cramps. Since I started the regular womens program a week ago along with walking at least a half hour every day and i have already lost 5 lbs!

Let me give you some brief Nutrisystem food reviews. Every month I would log onto my Nutrisystem account. From the menu options, I would pick 28 foods of my choice for each of the four meals which included breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. The choices were easy as I loved almost everything they offer. The plan I chose, which is the Core plan, only includes the shelf foods instead of the frozen varieties.

I was on NS a while back, I think it was in 1992, but…………..even then I thought the food wasn’t bad. I remember losing continuously, but then had a plateau as well, it lasted about 2 months, never gained , but stayed the same. I did stick with it, and oh my gosh, the weight started melting off after the plateau. I was so glad I stuck with it. I lost continually after that. Need to have patience. 🙂

I came on this site to find some tips and some honest answers before I decided to purchase Nutrisystem. I had already called their customer service and found the young man I talked with to be extremely nice, very helpful and explained adding a salad (without gobs of dressing) and/or some fruit with the meals especially in the beginning to become used to portion sizes plus the need to give up my extreme addiction to Dr. Pepper. What I find disturbing are the comments on this site about being too lazy to do it yourself and a few other rather tacky comments. I have been over weight most of my life and struggle daily. Comments like that come from people who have been thin most of their lives and have no clue what it’s like for those of us searching for help. You also have no idea at all what it’s like to be hurt continually and daily by people who are cruel and heartless. I know how to cook healthy but I have a problem with time and convenience. I work 12 hour days. I’m not expecting this to be gourmet meals – it’s packaged, processed food. I also talked with the customer service rep about sodium as that is a concern with my blood pressure. He assured me that the diet was based on the under 2000 mg a day that my own doctor has recommended.

Hi Troy – Sorry to hear that that was your experience. In all honesty, I have hadn’t any problems when dealing with their customer service, and everyone has been friendly and helpful. It was actually a customer service rep who told me I could switch from the meal delivery to just the Turbo Shakes after my first month on the program to lock in the auto-delivery savings without having to commit to another month of food. In any case, I hope you are able to get things resolved!

Nature has engineered many naturally occurring preservatives, such as honey and citric acid, which prevent its bounty from spoiling before it’s picked or plucked for consumption. But there are hundreds of artificially manufactured preservatives that can be added to foods to help slow the process of decay, mold and spoilage.

The food is nasty, slimy. Yuk. I did lose ten pounds in a month, but probably because I couldn’t stomach the food and could only force down part of the meals. Breakfasts and snacks were okay. Dinners made me gag.

So, Nutrisystem Lean 13 can potentially work if you’re okay with eating all of the processed foods and prepackaged meals every day. However, this is probably not the most significant choice for the long term. Both dietitians and nutritionists recommend eating mostly whole foods for optimal health and weight management. [9] [10]

As far as I know, no one has nailed it to any one thing in the food, so the cause of gas could simply be different people have different experiences with it. Could be the increase in dietary fiber. But since it only affects a small percentage of dieters, it’s tough to say for certain without running a bunch of tests which your doctor could do.

Find someone who is using Nutrisystem and ask them for a “Buddy Bucks” coupon. This is a coupon code they will send to your email. Just ask! It’s easy to find these people through Nutrisystem’s Facebook or Twitter page. This way you save $30.00.

I started out with the Silver 5 day flex plan, and now am on the 7 day plan. I thought that the temptations for the other 2 days were just too much for me to handle – that’s my main gripe. With all the options you get with Nutrisystem, you don’t need any other food even though you can add fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as other options for each meal. The snacks help you to not be hungry between meals, and they are fairly healthy too.

I tried NS recently and foolishly missed where, in the fine print, they say you have to commit for at least 2 months – that’s a commitment of about $700. I lost no weight and stopped having bowel movements. My options were a) pay a $100 cancellation fee for quitting before the 2 months b) pay $150 for a lunch and snack plan to “spare” me the fee or c) just accept the next $350 shipment of food and spend another month not using the bathroom. Thankfully the CS rep waived the fee for me due to the health issue (which I had previously reported) but the whole experience left me feeling icky. I’m not a fan of companies who not only HAVE high, arbitrary cancellation fees (why do I have to stay for 2 months if I hate it after 1?), but who also feel they need to place any mention of them at the bottom of the page in “fine print” so small you can just barely read it. Like what’s your deal, what’s up with that?

Extras are also add-ons you might use to add some flavor to your foods. Extras, however, contain between 11 and 35 calories per serving. To avoid loading up on too many added calories, we recommend limiting your Extras to three servings per day.

The Nutrisystem Silver plan has been the best decision I ever made for myself. When I was 14 I gained a bit of weight, and after 4 children and 40 years, I put on even more. I always thought I was healthy until I had a heart attack. A better diet and exercise is what I was told I needed. So I bought the Nutrisystem 7 day plan after I seen it on television in the hospital.

You begin this diet by selecting the program that best meets your needs: Women’s, Men’s, Silver for Women, Silver for Men, Type 2 Diabetes, or Vegetarian. You can then either let NutriSystem select your meals or you can choose for yourself. Standard programs, such as Women’s or Men’s, offer over 300 different meals to choose from. But subscribers to the other programs have a more limited selection. For example, the vegetarian program lets you choose from about 60 entrees and desserts.

I have only been on the Turbo 10 system for a week. My take on the system…the frozen food isn’t half bad. Shelf stable meat has never been my favorite so I opted for mostly frozen dinners and I find them every bit as good as Weight Watchers or Lean Cuisine. I have no issues with the food at all. The bars are similar to any other protein bar.

  1. Today is day 7 for me and I have lost 9 pounds. This diet is very easy and the food is good. If there is an item i dont like i simply add fresh salsa to the food and it makes everything taste better. I am excited to see what week 2 brings me. Thank you Nutrisystem.
In this updated for 2018 Nutrisystem reviews article I guide you honestly through the things you need to know about the program with facts. That’s so you can make your own mind up as to whether you want to sign up with Nutrisystem or not.
While you’re going to get the best weight loss results by eating the Nutrisystem foods for the majority of your meals and snacks, they give you the option of taking a meal, or even a day off, with their “flex meals.”
