Hi Cook! Thanks so much for the prompt reply! I did actually read the ‘fine print’ and I understand and respect it! It’s sometimes difficult to weed out the legit complaints so thanks for helping clear that up! I agree completely that it’s going to take couple of months anyway to retrain your habits and see some results! I am so excited at the hopes of this working! I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far! I can’t wait to continue!
The second week was easier. I finally set a goal to lose 30 lbs. I really wanted to get into a new Easter outfit. I was still buying Nutrisystem by the week from Walmart. Does Nutrisystem from Walmart (or Costco) work? It sure did for me. I looked forward to my next meal. I got hungry between meals sometimes. This is when I would snack on foods such as almonds, kale chips or nonfat yogurts. I purchased some Nutrisystem shakes to use between meals also. They are delicious and will knock out the hungry feelings or cravings. I only lost 2 lbs the second week but it was still a loss.
I am on day 27. Did turbo plan. Lost 5 lbs first several days and have not lost anything since. Major plateau and very discouraging. I am going to stick with it another month. New delivery should be today. I started at 175 – 5’8″ tall. lost 1 inch in waist, chest and thigh. That is it. I have stuck to the plan. Not understanding how I’m not dropping weight. My breakfast used to be 1000 calories.

I am not one for exercise, so the weight loss plans where they say you have to exercise 5 times a week really turn me off. I know that Nutrisystem encourages exercise, but in two weeks I have lost 5 pounds without exercising at all.
So maybe anyone reading this might be thinking I’m not a real person, or I’m getting paid to favor the company or something, but from where I’m sitting, I feel pretty real to me. No ones paying me to say this. And I’m just an ordinary guy who works at an office job in my early 40s who needed to lose a few inches off my waist and 20 pounds of fat!

My husband and I just started Nutrisystem. We talked about it for a month before deciding to order and I have to say, We have no regrets. I am pre-diabetic and I am significantly overweight. My husband only needs to lose a few pounds but everyone needs a diet buddy! After scrolling through bank statements we realized that we would actually save money by ordering for the both of us. I think a huge misconception that I have seen on other review sites is that if someone is overweight then ,obviously, they are lazy. In my case working extremely long hours as a nurse has taken its toll. I never feel like cooking after 12 hour shifts in a psychiatric ward. It was so easy to grab something on the way home from work. My husband also works 12 hour shifts as a supervisor and my youngest is also a nurse working 12 hour shifts. Once we get home we crash and burn. On days off we are very active. We kayak, ride bikes, walk and work outside nonstop. It’s so convenient to come home and have food that’s ready to go and good for us. I have already lost weight and feel great! My weight has been an issue for years but was compounded when my Dad passed away. All I wanted to do was eat. I’m trying to avoid the same issues he dealt with for the majority of his life. He was diabetic and had heart disease. I think every diet has pros and cons but when you start factoring in heart problems and diabetes then it’s a no-brainer. Also check nutrition facts for what you normally eat and I would guarantee that the sodium and preservatives in Nutrisystem aren’t nearly as bad as most things that we eat.
Not everyone is quite so strong willed and many do return to old eating/drinking habits and gain weight. This diet is not just made to make you lose weight, it’s designed to teach your body to get used to eating less and to teach your brain to be aware of what you’re eating all the time – even when you’re not dieting.
Hi Obie – I would recommend talking to the folks at Nutrisystem about the Turbo Shake ingredients, and then with your doctor to make sure they’re OK for you to drink. I’ll post a picture of the ingredient label tomorrow and send you an update so you can check it out. Best of luck – Norm
The company says that you do not have to accept lower quality food just to stay healthy with diabetes – you lose out on none of the taste and variety that you would have if you were on any other Nutrisystem plan.
Sorry I missed reporting…I’ve made it into August. I’m doing the plan, I’m exercising,eating the food ect. But from8/1 til today nothing. Scale is not moving. I called in and got some instructions, but not too say, I’m feeling little down. I was down and went up 1 lb. Now its not moving. Yikes, this part is frustrating. Any ideas????
Hi Pat, I totally agree. I was on it a few years ago and lost a lot of weight. People were amazed; and I was amazed. I could run up stairs in a flash! The problem was, as you stated, that once I got off the plan…I put it all back on and then some! I ate anything and all I wanted because…shoot, I had finished my diet.
I was not in the mind set to plan every meal I ate, with Nutrisystem it\\\’s planned for you. … with diets so i don’t really have anything to compare it to, but it does work. … It isn’t the cheapest diet out there but it does work. …
Hi Julie- Thank you so much for sharing your story, and way to go for making it through your first month! I absolutely know what you’re talking about with the plateaus, and yes, I have experienced similar results at times. I think the calorie restriction is the hardest part about Nutrisystem, and why now I typically only do the diet for a month or two and then really focus on just eating right and getting enough exercise after that. Nowadays I typically go back to Nutrisystem if I feel like I need a “reset”, or some quick results, sort of like the 13 lbs you mentioned during the first couple of weeks you were on the program – that’s awesome! For me, the approach after Nutrisystem has been intermittent fasting (IF). Of course, I’m not a doctor or nutrition expert, so anyone considering IF should definitely talk to a health professional before trying it. That said, I have had a lot of success with it, and find that I can maintain a healthy weight for long stretches of time when using it. It’s easy to transition to after Nutrisystem as well, because my body has adjusted to eating less. I’d recommend checking out Chris Winters on Facebook, as he has lots of great free IF info. In any case, sounds like you’re on the right track with your exercise plan, and I wish you the best of luck!
The Nutrisystem men’s basic plan is very convenient to use too. I take my frozen lunch with me to work and I can get more work done while losing weight! The plan is also very simple to follow, just follow their instructions. Don’t deviate by eating snickers bars, okay?! Stay away from those evil vending machines too! If you drink coffee, stop using creamer as I discovered I was drinking an extra 300 calories a day in coffee creamer!
When I was on the plan my wife and children would eat their food while I ate my Nutrisystem food. I love my wife’s cooking. Her food was hard to resist; however, I stuck to the Nutrisystem plan because their food also tastes good.
By the 3rd month, I had lost even more weight and people were starting to notice. I was getting a lot of compliments. I was looking through some old pictures to compare with my newest pictures so I could make my first “reveal” photo.” Just wow”!

I am on the 7 day plan, because I think the flex plan would be my demise. If given the chance to choose other foods that are this good, I may stray. So it is better that I stick with what is best for me and is still on an even keel with my tastes. When my husband cooked it always tasted good, but my cholesterol was through the roof. Now my cholesterol is under control and one of my heart medications is no longer needed. I have lost 21 pounds and still losing. I will be in better shape in one month, than I have been since I was 30.
The regular plans are not too expensive; there are different plans at different price levels. If you want to spend only $10 per day they have a plan for you. You can also buy the most expensive plan at $12. With this plan you won’t have to supplement as much. The program cost is comparable to what you would normally spend on meals for one person at your regular grocery store.
I am so happy that I have lost this weight. My initial goal was to get to 180 pounds. I believed that I couldn’t get any smaller than that. I know 180 pounds is a high number but I am a large frame person and I am 5’9” tall. I can’t remember a time when I weighed much less than 180.
