“Did Nutrisystem work for you”

I totally agree with J Mayer, who said that the bloating and gas might be the processed food and sodium of Nutrisystem. It’s been five days since I started NS; so far it’s all right except for the uncomfortable gas. This reviewer says that someone who is not used to healthy food but processed food suffers bloating and gas. But I don’t think so. I usally don’t eat processed food, and never had this problem.

People have asked me how do I stick to the diet during holidays or when family decides to go out to eat. “Do you ever cheat?” They will ask.  Well, that’s a struggle sometimes. But I can say I now have control. The first holiday I had to concur was Easter weekend as I had to face a  sunrise breakfast at church and a big family dinner. I allowed myself to enjoy all the foods that were offered. However, since being on Nutrisystem, I have a pretty good idea on the right foods to stay clear of, and how big of portions I should have. I even enjoyed some bacon, a piece of cheese cake and a peep. The day after that Easter, I was nervous about stepping on the scales. To my surprise, I hadn’t gained a pound, but instead, I actually lost a few ounces.

The following is a blog documenting two Los Angeles Times editors’ attempts to lose weight. It all began on Jan. 10 . Temptation. Schmemptation. Sure, I’m feeling a little cocky.  The events over the last two days have left me feeling tough. Mark Wahlberg in “Invincible” tough.   That doesn’t mean I’m going to wear a mesh tank top to work or anything.  At least not today.  But come casual Friday, watch out.   Why the feelings of invincibility?  Just like Wahlberg’s character I overcame terrific odds to win an epic battle.

Glad to hear you had success with Nutrisystem and would wholeheartedly agree with you on the portion sizing. I look at what I eat now vs. two years ago and it’s crazy. I got that from them and the changed diet was combo between them and us just changing our habits.

Don’t get discouraged on this or any diet. I asked the Wellness Director at work why I wasn’t losing weight, but my clothes were getting looser. I was also going to Planet Fitness with a friend a few tines a week. She said that what was happening was that I was building muscle, and redistributing my weight bc of exercise.

The Nutrisystem diet plan provides between 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day, which puts you in the range to lose a healthy, sustainable avg 1 to 2 pounds per week. But we do all the counting for you—so you can lose weight without the worry of tracking calories, carbs or points.

I am on my second week of NutriSystem and I have to say most of the food is horrible. I have had a few good things, but overall I will not purchase another month of food. I think Jenny Craig has much better tasting food, though both programs aren’t cheap.

Just reporting in. I’m on day 21. I started July 1. Water is still a issue for me but getting better. I ordered my next order direct from NS and went on the My way plan. I’m still putting in a choice dinner meal on Saturdays. I’m down 6lbs. I’m happy. I trying so hard to stay on with the exercise also. I’m walking each day for 30 minutes. Getting it done early mornings since its hot in Florida. I feel less bloated and know soon, there will be a noticeable difference.

NOTE:   This is a blog about two guys attempting to lose weight over a six-week period.  They kicked off their weight loss “strategies” on Monday . Discipline.  That’s what I need. If I’m going to shed the 25 pounds in 12 weeks, I’ve got to take it more seriously. When Cartman wanted to gain those extra pounds to be a “beefcake” in the first season of South Park, he manned up.  He ordered “Weight Gain 4000.”  (I included the video below)

The New England Journal of Medicine concluded in 2013 that a portion-controlled and calorie-restricted diet is pretty tried and true. And while it does not comment specifically on Nutrisystem, the point is made. [8]

Hi, I thought I was struggling after 2 months and only dropping a total of 9lbs, 5 of those in the first week then very slow after that. Seems the ads make you think you can drop 5lbs every week! But I’m finding it tough going. I haven’t cheated at all, just stayed with the food they sent and some grocery items they said was OK. I read many of the comments here and it helps to know I’m not the only one with a slow metabolism! I aim to start doing some exercises, that will help right? Oh yeah, the food isn’t so bad as some say. It could be better, but hey, its very cheap compared with Jenny Craig that I tried last year and their food isn’t much different! I’m waiting for my 3rd delivery, so here’s hoping I’ll lose more this month!

Taste: Nutrisystem products should be palatable for most. A 2011 Consumer Reports taste test that pitted Nutrisystem’s packaged meals against those of its rival, Jenny Craig, deemed Jenny the winner by a slight margin. While Jenny’s meals were slightly tastier, Nutrisystem’s fare was rated “good” overall. (A side test of frozen Nutrisystem entrees did much better than pantry ones, according to the review.) A company survey of 3,500 customers conducted in 2010 found that nine out of every 10 were happy with the quality and taste of their food. In 2014, Nutrisystem introduced 40 new items and reformulated another 32 products to remove artificial flavors and sweeteners. It also phased out 19 products based on customer feedback. It now has almost no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors.

I know I’m only supposed to weigh myself like at the end of the week, but I couldn’t help myself and I got a shock. Four pounds lost in 3 days. That’s crazy! But I’m not complaining, no way… this rocks!

Dieters who thrive on packaged convenience foods. Anyone who craves the fresh taste of pan-sauteed fish, roasted chicken, or a sizzling steak right off the grill, though, isn’t going to be wowed by the taste of freeze-dried scrambled eggs.

With so many diets I was hungry just an hour or so after I ate. With the Silver plan, I am never hungry after I eat. Some days I don’t even eat the snacks because I am still full from my meals! The food is perfectly portioned so that I am always full, and it tastes so good. Each meal tastes home made, and is so easy to make. I paid more at the grocery store buying those diet meals than I pay for Nutrisystem each month. And I get more options so I never have to eat the same thing twice in a month.

The premise of this diet is that eating a controlled amount of foods with a low-glycemic index will help you lose weight. The glycemic food index gives carbohydrate-rich foods a score based on how quickly 1 serving raises your blood sugar. Research suggests that eating foods with a low-glycemic index can help control hunger by keeping you full longer. The NutriSystem diet is made up of about 50% low-glycemic carbohydrates, 25% protein, and 20% fat.

Nutrisystem is a diet program that focuses on portion control. The diet usually includes three healthy meals and two nutritious snacks per day. Once you sign up with Nutrisystem, the company provides you with most of the food you need for a certain number of days, usually in 28-day cycles. One goal with Nutrisystem is to teach dieters how to eat healthily so eventually they can go it alone and return to preparing their own nutritious food.

Nutrisystem is a great weight loss option for those who need guidance and do not like all of the guesswork associated with other types of diets. Components in their meals allow blood sugar levels to remain stable, makes your body work to process food, and makes you feel fuller longer to satiate any cravings and control your appetite. Less calorie intake while burning more calories gives this plan the requirements for a decent success rate.

First, I LOVE Nutrisystem and have been making a regular log and posts about the food and my journey on it. It’s really neat and really easy to use. I’d definitely recommend it. As far as the system goes, it’s awesome.

I was pretty pleased to find this web site and your cost breakdown is very detailed. Thanks for all of the information – it makes my decision a lot easier. Hopefully can report back with some great results.

I’d say 95% of the NS foods taste great. The other 5% are just not my thing don’t like mushrooms or eggs). Luckily though, Nutrisystem offers many different foods to choose from. Nutrisystem is also adding new food items to the menu all of the time. Always good to keep the variety up. The Nutrisystem plans foods are also healthy.

The following review examines the advantages and disadvantages of several popular diet plans. Many of the diets emphasize the restriction of one nutrient as the basis for their plan. The other food groups and nutrients are allowed in limited or unlimited quantities, depending on the plan. Weight loss is impossible without a calorie restriction, so each diet has to provide fewer calories than your body needs to maintain your weight. Any diet that claims otherwise can end up causing weight gain. Various diet plans are summarized below to help you learn to review them for safety and effectiveness.

Hey Marion, sounds like you got a bad deal there, but I don’t know why you hated this so much. I also tried the Sliver plan a couple months ago and found the food okay. Sure, it wasn’t wonderful, but not so bad I wanted to stop eating it. I got through and lost weight. Maybe my stomach is better tuned into spicy food as I actually like to eat Mexican dishes — part of the reason I got overweight in the first place! And the pizza wasn’t like you describe. You sure you didn’t overcook it?

I recommend the Nutrisystem men’s basic plan if you are a man whose having problems with portion control and who needs to lose some weight. Do not be afraid of having to give up eating great food because you’re still going to get great food with Nutrisystem.

My name is Susan, and I am one of the many women who lost weight on Nutrisystem. Before I elaborate on this Nutrisystem review and show you my Nutrisystem before and after photos, let me tell you a little bit about me.  I am a 33-year-old woman.  I am married.  We do not have any children yet.  We do have an adorable lab mix named Samantha that we love and cherish.  We live in North Florida near Tallahassee.  My husband and I moved up here from Gainesville, FL.  The move was quite an adjustment.  Since moving nearly eight years ago we now have an hour commute to and from work each day.

The Nutrisystem diet was created in the early 1970s by Harold Katz, first as a liquid protein drink program, then as a series of weight-loss centers. In the late 1990s, Nutrisystem developed into an online heat-and-eat meal delivery service. The program is based on the premise that it’s easier for dieters to lose weight if they don’t have to plan and prepare their own meals, but instead have access to ready-made, pre-portioned entrees and snacks that keep daily caloric intake low. The meals emphasize lean protein and carbohydrates with a low glycemic index such as whole grains and vegetables.

When my husband was on NutriSystem he did not require hair cuts or his nails to be clipped. I wonder what *Secret additives are being put in? Could this relate to Lily Tomlin’s movie…The Incredible Shrinking Woman?!

Hey Mary, it’s early days but you’ll be surprised how the weight will start dropping off over time. The water really helps things along and is so important so persevere because it’s worth it. Good luck!

  1. Losing weight is not rocket science, as Nutrisystem would have you believe. You don’t need them to cook your meals weeks or months prior. Just start adding healthy, fesh foods to your regular diet and ween yourself off of heavy foods that you’ll find at restaurants. This way your body is getting what it really wants and needs, and you aren’t relying on a corporation to provide 100% of your food.
