You can get by perfectly well just on the food they send although for your own personal tastes it’s OK to add some fresh vegetables to the main meals to make them bigger without adding any more calories.

“Weight loss meal plans like Nutrisystem”

With the Nutrisystem men’s basic plan I never feel hungry like I have when I tried other diet plans. I get to eat three meals a day plus a snack and a dessert. As soon as I start to feel hungry I get to eat again.

Nutrisystem offers the worst experience for customer service. They give you the runaround when it comes to disputing their charges. I was going to stop my subscription after my first month but the representative that I spoke with offered me the price of $278.00 and I decided to stay with the program. Well needless to say, I was charged $350.00. The representative I spoke to today, informed me there was nothing he could do. I asked to talk to his supervisor and informed me that his supervisor was unavailable. He could connect me to his supervisor voicemail. Worst Customer Service Experience At Its Best!!!! Rip Off!!!

I have lost about ten pounds so far. I feel like it should be a little more than that, but have you ever heard of someone losing ten pounds during the holidays? And honestly, I probably ate too much on my free days. I’m going to work on that over the next round of meals to see if that increases the weight loss. Also, I haven’t been exercising. I’m going to try and get in a noon walk each day to see if that will help. I am a true Nutrisystem fan!

As with all the plans, the first week of the Basic Plan is Turbo10, an ultra-low-calorie plan that allows you to lose up to 10 pounds and up to five inches right off the bat. Unlike the other plans, custom menus are not an option; you must stick with whatever you receive in the Favorites Pack. Counseling and other services are not included with this plan.

I’m happier with the lunch choices though. All of the soups are great, but I really love the Chicken Salad. I also think that the breakfast choices and dessert options are really helping me to stick to the diet.

The Atkins diet web site states the current plan “is about eating delicious and healthy foods, which makes it so much better than any of those fad diets out there. You eat a variety of your favorite foods — lean protein, leafy greens, vegetables, nuts, fruits, whole grains. Plus, you get delicious Atkins bars and shakes from day one and every step of the way.”

NS isn’t for everyone I am sure. But the food isnt nasty… well not all of it. Most of it is good with a few nasty things. I just went to my account and delete those meals off my list. Also, I heard once you get to your goal weight you go into maintanence and you start replacing 1 meal a day with regular food. This teaches you how to eat real food instead of being dependent on NS meals for the rest of your life.

Since different veggies offer up different nutrients, we’ve split them into two main subgroups: starchy and non-starchy. Starchy vegetables like corn, potatoes and peas fall under the SmartCarb category, while the non-starchy vegetable group includes familiar staples like leafy greens, broccoli and tomatoes.

I tried the program several years agl. It worked well for me until they started emptying their warehouse and sent me 22 choclate brownies in one order along with other things that I specifically requested not be sent. They never once sent me the order I requested. The food war marginal at best and extremely overpriced. The same meals can be bought in the supermarket for 1/5th the price. The only advantage is not having to plan meals. Just add a salad or fruit.

I’m on the mens plan and just completed my second week. The food is pretty good so far. Not had a bad one yet and I don’t feel hungry at all. I really did lose 5lbs my first week and another 3 in my second. I guess I’m doing something right for a change! I told 2 of my colleagues at work and now they’ve signed up for it after seeing it working for me. Heres looking to a thinner future!

A few years ago before I retired, I used to get a few pounds overweight thanks to sitting a lot all day and of course as you get older it gets harder to shift the extra. It’s not for everyone, but I did a 24 hour fast. Just drank water the whole day and slept on an empty stomach. The next day I ate as normal and stayed off anything with sugar in it after that.

I feel the need to comment. I just completed the fast 5 and am now starting my 28 day plan. I have lost 7 lbs in 7 days and I feel great. I love the convenience of not having to make alot of decisions. I rank each entree with a 1-3 score and amazingly – almost all are 3’s. Could I prepare something that was more delicious from scratch- of course… but then I’d likely find it higher in calories and my will power would be tested on my portion control. Face it- this is a diet! And as far as diets go- i am loving this one. I can choose the foods I like best- and I can have a snack/sweet each day. This is the first diet I have been on where i do not have to make a ton of choices and I feel totally satisfied all day long! I am amazed at those who are so critical… I for one recommend this diet to anyone. Also the CS staff has been very responsive and professional.

I am so happy that I decided to take the plunge and order Nutrisystem.  It has truly changed my life and I am so grateful that I have found a way to live that I feel happier, healthier and have so much more energy.

I am on the 7 day plan, because I think the flex plan would be my demise. If given the chance to choose other foods that are this good, I may stray. So it is better that I stick with what is best for me and is still on an even keel with my tastes. When my husband cooked it always tasted good, but my cholesterol was through the roof. Now my cholesterol is under control and one of my heart medications is no longer needed. I have lost 21 pounds and still losing. I will be in better shape in one month, than I have been since I was 30.

I tried NS last year from January (New Years Resolution) to March and lost 35 lbs. I also kicked my exercise routine into gear. The diet was easy and taught me how to budget my eating and to discipline myself so that I went on to lose another 10 lbs the next month without NS just by keeping my good habits and exercise.

My biggest beef with Nutrisystem is the lack of quality ingredients. The food you get from them have processed components. The best way to lose weight is to cook your food from scratch. You won’t mindlessly snack if everything has to be made from scratch. Skip fad diets like this and take control yourself.

Nutrisystem has helped me so much with the eating part of that.  Because the food is already made and correctly portioned, I don’t worry about eating too much. The food tastes really great, and never once have I felt like I needed to eat something else after I have finished one of their entrées.  I especially love the pasta dinner dishes. I feel like I can now eat pasta without feeling guilty; which is a nice change. Plus, I know that spending the money on the plan is helping me stick to it because I don’t want the money to go to waste. That really has helped me a lot.

My husband and I started on the same day. We like it, cut back to dinners my way which fits our life style with such a busy work schedule. Learned to work in my own snacks occasionally. Best of all after being on 5 months have learned portion control. My husband lost 25 lbs and got to goal weight quickly (good for him). I’m at 20, losing very slowly but it took me decades to put the weight on. I plan on using the turbo shakes as long as I can.

Mostly. One concern: A special three-day BodyBoost plan used to break a dieting plateau out to only about 1,000 calories a day, too few calories to provide all the nutrients you need. Plans that call for 1,200 calories or more based on weight, gender, and activity level should work just fine.

I’m sorry it is not available internationally but I believe the additional shipping costs would make it very expensive and therefore not attractive to dieters in other countries around the world.

I’m sure that this is because I don’t have to cook lunch and dinner. I can’t stand cooking, so I usually eat out. I am single, and it is much easier to just go through a drive-thru window for fast food than it is to cook for one person. Because I’m prone to do that, I’ve gained about 30 pounds that I shouldn’t be carrying. Now with Nutrisystem, I’m able to have my prepared meals ready to go at work and at home. The lunches and dinners are the very best thing about this plan. The food tastes so great. I absolutely love the Hearty Beef Stew because it reminds me of the stew my mom used to make for me when I was a kid. And I adore the Macaroni and Cheese as well.

I have started the plan this week and have lost 10 pounds but I have 190 more to go. I am also a type II diabetic with neuropathy and have had some real lows in my sugar levels did that happen to you in the beginning?

These days I am typically able to maintain a healthy weight just by eating the right foods (for me that’s a diet with a lot of fruits and vegetables) and getting enough exercise, which is also good for things like hypertension and high cholesterol – both of these issues are an absolute must for me.

That’s a good suggestion for Mary. Lack of weight loss when on a calorie controlled diet is often attributed to a slowdown of metabolism to match the lower calorie count. It is commonly remedied by taking more exercise each day. The blood type diet is an interesting one that has some merit and is also worth looking at.

I hear some folks say there is a lot of sodium in NS food, but I didn’t find it to be so bad as I was led to believe. I though the food was about on par with processed ready meals you buy in the supermarkets except lower in calories obviously or it wouldn’t be a diet!
