My husband was a metabolic nightmare, bp high, cholesterol high, blood sugar high so I order him the men’s diabetic plan and within 10 days everything had fallen into normal ranges. He was on Nutrisystem for 4 months and lost 40 pounds! Love the program and the support they give you and it really works if you follow the rules!!
NOTE: This is a blog about two guys attempting to lose weight over a six-week period. Jimmy Orr is trying Nutrisystem. Tony Pierce is freelancing. They began on Jan. 10. I found myself saying ‘Hello children’ numerous times in the voice of “South Park’s” Chef; as I pulled out a Nutrisystem Salisbury steak TV dinner on Thursday night. Chef, as voiced by the late Isaac Hayes, frequently had Salisbury steak on the school lunch menu and would offer to serve it up to the South Park kids right before some disaster would inevitably strike.
Dieters just starting on the Nutrisystem program select breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snack items for 28 days at a time, either online or over the phone. The meals are all delivered at once to the dieter’s home, along with instructions for following your personalized eating plan. None of the items require refrigeration, and most are ready-to-eat or microwavable, though some need you to add hot water or to do some stove-top preparation. To supplement the Nutrisystem meals, you’re also provided with instructions for how much vegetables, fruits, lean protein and low- or no-fat dairy products you’ll need from the grocery store. Nutrisystem followers are also encouraged to exercise for 30 minutes daily.
I tried the Turbo plan for men for 4 days and had to stop. I was getting headaches, severe cramping, nausea, and experiencing some depression. I called the rep and she said the week will be hard like this. I I cancelled the plan. Got a refund. No diet should cause a person this much pain. Even a person in detox gets something to help them ease off bad stuff. Nutrisystem just throws you into carb withdrawal and says good luck. Nope.
I love Nutrisystem and recommend it all the time!!!! I used it in the past when I was in undergrad, and I lost 30 pounds. I kept it off for 3 years, and I actually lost a bit more on my own using the tools I had learned. Being a single female, I found the program to be very convenient, and it fit well into my hectic schedule. I am currently in medical school and have decided to start the program back up (currently in week 2 and 5 pounds down) due to the poor eating habits that developed during my first two years (late night studying is a KILLER–I was also out of the country which made things a bit more difficult for me). I really do not understand the people who complain about the bad taste and “small” portions of the food…isn’t eating big portions of fatty foods what led us to wanting a change in the first place?? I found some items that I was not a huge fan of and opted to just not order them the second time around. I would advise picking your own items instead of ordering the favorite meals option…even if this is your first time, you can still pick things based on what you know you like and do not like instead of being “surprised” when you see something with, let’s say for example, spinach, which you have hated since the third grade. 🙂 Being honest here, the only negative I can find about the program is that it can be a bit pricey up front. However, even with adding in fresh fruits and vegetables and dairy products as suggested, my monthly finances for food are really NOT that much different than before (when I sat down and really calculated it out). Different programs work better for some people more than others. I think the real key to success here is making the decision that you really are ready for a LIFE change and sticking to it! Good luck to those of you who do decide Nutrisystem is the prgram for you.
The real issue was with the lunch and dinner items. Aside from the portions, which were laughably small (and this is coming from someone who is not obese, just needed to lose a few pounds… I just can’t imagine anyone 200 pounds or above not passing out from a “lunch” that consists of a tiny can of soup (120 calories and literally 6 spoonfuls…), there is also the issue of taste. NutriSystem lunches were either salty or tasteless. There was hardly any other taste. But generally the lunch items were still less offensive than the dinner “dishes.”
Another challenge many face is what to do when you travel or go out to eat. I didn’t deal with that much though can see how it can be a challenge. Nutrisystem has quite a number of packaged meals you can take on the go to deal with the travel component. Think KIND bars, or something similar.
Since the program is primarily focused on diet, the website offers few fitness features. There is an exercise log where you can track your daily physical activity, though. We particularly like that the log displays how many calories you burned when you input an exercise or activity. You can access this journal either through the Nutrisystem website or via the mobile app, which is convenient for logging exercise activity while you’re out. You will have to find the motivation to work out on your own because, other than a few tips, there isn’t any real exercise program with this service, such as suggested exercises for your body type, workout videos or tutorials, which you’d find with higher-ranked weight loss plans like Diet.com.
Remember to use those unlimited non-starchy veggies. They can be a big help with hunger especially in your first couple weeks on the plan. You can also reach out to a counselor at 1-800-585-5483 press option two. They would be happy to go over more tips if needed.
2018 is going to be a great year for dieters looking to shed those unwanted extra pounds! Nutrisystem is in the forefront of the diet industry and they have come out for the New Year with guns blazing.
Nutrisystem programs, especially the Lean 13 program, are designed to bring clients serious results in a short period of time. If you follow the directions that they provide you on Lean 13, for example, you can expect significant weight loss within the first week of the program. Of course, these are not the limitations of the program. It is important to note that Nutrisystem does not guarantee results of any type, but it does offer money back in certain cases, such as late or broken products. Nutrisystem advertises that its plans are laid forth with advice from medical professionals, and that they have millions of clients with success stories, including celebrities and professional athletes. However, every body type is different. You may experience less or more depending on your natural metabolism, your previous diet and your lifestyle. The majority of your success will come from following directions set forth within the program that you choose.
I have been on Nutrisystem for 12 days, and have lost 10 pounds. All I have done is followed the diet religously. The taste is good enough for me (dessert cookie, breakfsat scones)especially considering the results!
I want to start by saying I’m 26, 5 ft 4in and weighed 140 lbs at the start of January this year. Now to a lot of people that might sound like I don’t need to lose any weight, but I feel fat and I just don’t look good in tight fitting clothes. I want to go out with my friends and dress to kill like they do, but I feel too self conscious, so I decided to start a diet and I chose Nutrisystem. I thought if I could lose an inch off my waist and 5 lbs in a week like they say, who knows how great I could look in a month, right? Well I was skeptical at first and when the package arrived and I started going through what was in there, I thought I made a big mistake. No way could I eat that stuff, it looked awful! But I already paid for it and they said I could get my money back if it didn’t work so I started the plan. The first few days were not as bad as I thought they would be. Food was better on the plate than it looked in the packets, but the meals were so small! I took advise and drank lots of water and added grocery items so I wouldn’t feel hungry and I just kept with it. I weighed in after 7 days and nearly fell off the scales. 134lbs. No way! I got out my tape and yeah, my waist was just over an inch smaller! No way!! I kept going even though there were some meals I didn’t like at all. I ate them anyway cause I was too shocked to quit. Well, the next 3 weeks my weight only dropped another 4 lbs and I ended the month at 131. I was worried I wasn’t going to lose any more, but when I spoke to a nice lady in support, she told me it was normal to slow down after a fast start and if I wanted to go another month I could expect another 4-8 lbs loss, so I ordered a second month. I figured even another 4 lbs would be great because was already looking good in tighter clothes like my friends. I’m 2 weeks in and sure enough only lost another 2lbs so far. I don’t want to put anyone off doing this because its working for me, just slower than the ads make out. But second time around I ordered the select program that cost more but the meals are tons better. They’re frozen meals I think they come from Schwanns but it was worth the extra cost to at least sort of enjoy the food more than the packet stuff. Sorry this is so long, I typed it out in MS Word first so I have a copy in case it doesn’t get published or something. Hope it does! – Jeannie.
I remember to exercise, follow the plan and even though I can, I don’t eat out. There is too much of a temptation to cheat if I allow myself the chance. So I enjoy my meals at home and have lost 41 pounds in the last 2 months.
When you sign up for Nutrisystem, it’s important to go into it with the right mindset: If you’re expecting 5-star cuisine, then this probably isn’t the diet for you. But, if you’re realistic with your expectations, the food actually tastes pretty darn good.
Nutrisystem is one of the top choices when it comes to meal delivery diet plans, for both men and women. This is a great option for any guy looking to lose 10 pounds or more, and it receives our highest endorsement.
I just ordered my first 28 days worth of NS food and I must say I am extremely dissapointed. I read TONS of review on the net and found that a huge portion was positive feedback. I have only tried the double chocolate muffin, chocolate chip scone, chocolate cake and black bean soup, I know its a lot of chocolate, but i haven’t even been wanting to try anything else since that stuff was so gross. It tastes like preservatives and chemicals and it’s very dry. Maybe the lunch and dinners aren’t as bad but for the breakfasts and deserts I have ordered it is disgusting.
We had to take Nutrisystem program for 8 weeks because we got it at a discount thru our insurance company. My goal was to loose 30 lbs. and my wife’s goal was to loose 10 lbs. At the end of the 8 weeks I had lost only 3 lbs. and my wife only lost 1 lb. We did not care for the cardboard like food and did not get anywhere close to our goals. This program obviously works for lots of folks, but not for us. We did go to the Naturally Slim program and in 8 weeks I lost 18.5 lbs. and my wife lost 10 lbs. Naturally Slim is based on not what you eat but when and how you eat and you eat your own real food and got real results. We will stay with our new habits learned with Naturally Slim and will not have any good words from our Nutrisystem experience.
I’m truly blown away! I haven’t done anything different except eat the food they sent plus some grocery items they recommended. And I’m drinking more water, like a glass before each meal. I’ve never been able to lose weight on diets before. This is a first for me and I like it!
